American Sign Language
ABOUT THE COURSE
Galileo's Classroom is excited to present an American Sign Language course from Instructor Jamie Perlowitz for students in grades 5-9.
AMERICAN SIGN LANGUAGE
Do you know how a language is created? Do you want to be able to communicate across the room without even using your voice? Are you curious about Deaf Culture? This course will introduce the basic history of American Sign Language (ASL), conversational vocabulary, basic grammar, and tenets of the language. You’ll have the opportunity to learn to express yourself and understand others in this introduction to ASL. This course is great for someone who is ready to try something new and have a great time learning!
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTORS:
Jamie has been a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for the last 8 years in New Jersey. She graduated from The College of New Jersey with a Master of the Arts in teaching and Bachelor's Degree in Sociology.
