ABOUT THE COURSE

Galileo's Classroom presents a Critical Thinking & Problem Solving course for students in grades 8 - 10.

CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING

(8th - 10th grade)

Students will focus on developing an awareness of how our brains work when thinking critically. Attention, perception, cognition, and expression are all impacted by our modern, technologically - hyped world. What critical thinking skills and strategies can students apply to navigate their way to understanding their environment with greater depth and authenticity? How can we harness our gadgets to become less intrusive and distracting, and more beneficial?

Knowing the physiology of our brains, changing perspectives to solve problems, researching, testing claims, distinguishing fact from fiction, mind-mapping, and note-taking are essential components of the tool set we will utilize.
