Mobile App Development
ABOUT THE COURSE
Galileo's Classroom is excited to present a Mobile App Development course from Instructor Terri Beckles for students in grades 3 - 7.
MOBILE APP DEVELOPMENT
(3rd - 7th grade)
Mobile phones and tablets are an integral part of our everyday experiences. In this course students will build applications for the devices we seemingly can’t live without, shifting from consumers to creators of the experiences engaged in on mobile devices.
Students will need a mobile device with wifi capabilities and access to the app store, and a non-school email address. Students are encouraged to bring their personal computers if applicable.
ABOUT TERRI BECKLES:
A researcher and developer, Terri advances computing literacy and data science instruction and training at universities and academies. As a portrait photographer, she infuses art and creativity in her approach to teaching and equipping students and teachers. She develops computing curricula and applications at the cross-section of education, computing, and art that engage students and teachers as co-creators and agents for change in their fields, communities, and careers.
We will meet in room 1121 in the ADP Center, which is in University Hall on the Montclair State University campus. There will be college and graduate students in attendance participating as co-teachers and assistants.
