ABOUT THE COURSE
Galileo's Classroom is excited to present a Nuclear Physics course from Instructor Joshua Thompson for students in grades 5-7.
(5th - 7th grade)
Nuclear Physics is the study of atomic nuclei, which are the hearts of atoms. Our journey begins at the start of the universe. We then travel through the cores of stars, and will take a look at some of the cool, new research being conducted today. Experiments of our own will be conducted using Geiger counters.
ABOUT JOSHUA THOMPSON:
Joshua is a Physics major with a minor in Mathematics at Rutgers University. He is in his second year of carbon isotope research with a focus on laser-based detection. Joshua has been teaching STEM education for almost 4 years in the Montclair area. He strives to make physics intelligible and engaging to all ages.
We will meet in the ADP Center, which is in University Hall on the Montclair State University campus.
