ABOUT THE COURSE

Galileo's Classroom is excited to introduce a course that explores the intersection of critical thinking and modern technology.

SCHOLARLY THINKING WITH GADGETS (6th-9th)

Knowledge is the ability to apply interpretation and analysis to gain greater depth and authenticity of a subject. Do traditional scholastic skills for testing claims and sources apply to evaluating digital stories?

Students will learn to identify logical fallacies, spot confirmation bias, dissect bad arguments, and recognize sound reasoning. Students will experiment with vertical and lateral reading.  They will practice on current events. Making digital flashcards will be used to biohack or reinforce these elements of thinking critically.

Our course goal is to harness our hand-held technology to be beneficial in the classroom.
